44pool is a distributed mining pool. Worldwide stratum endpoints, multi-coin payouts, an ops surface tight enough for a single operator to run.
The challenge
Five regions, sub-100ms, paid daily — with one operator on the pager.
Stratum servers close to every miner, share validation under a hundred milliseconds, payouts that survive reorgs. Same uptime budget as a bank, run by one person.

Built solo, end to end.
Stratum endpoints in five regions, share validator, block-template fan-out, payout engine, miner dashboard. Built and still operated by one person.
The whole system stays online while it's updated. Capacity follows demand. Miners don't notice the work happening behind it.
